System Architecture
WeCycle is a peer-to-peer rental platform built around community and sustainability, allowing users to rent and share items instead of buying new. As Chief Technology Officer, I set the technical direction and architecture for the entire platform.
As a startup, WeCycle needed to move quickly while building infrastructure that could scale as the user base and item catalog grew — all with a lean team and limited runway. Balancing speed of execution with long-term technical sustainability was the core tension.
Under my technical leadership, WeCycle established a scalable platform architecture and shipped its core rental and listing features, positioning the company to grow its user base while keeping engineering costs sustainable.
WeCycle sharpened my ability to lead technology strategy at the company level — not just writing code, but deciding what to build, when, and how it fits the business.
